A week of meals for a kid who only eats chicken nuggets
Here's a sample week we made with PickyPlanIt for a child whose main safe food is chicken nuggets, then edited by hand. Every day has something familiar on the plate, and a few dinners are close cousins of chicken nuggets (same crunch, same shape, same dip) so a new food never feels like a big leap.
How to use this week
- Keep a safe food on the plate at every meal, so there's always something they'll eat.
- Serve new foods next to familiar ones, never instead of them. A single bite-sized piece is plenty.
- Swap meals around freely. Repeating a meal that worked is a win, not a failure.
- For kids under 4, cut food into small, soft pieces and halve round foods like blueberries.

| Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monday | Golden Nugget Waffles 🍽️ Keep syrup in a small dipping cup on the side so the waffles stay crispy. | Homemade Chicken Nugget Bento 🍽️ Use a muffin tin or bento box to keep the chicken apart from the 'wet' cucumber. | Chicken Tenders and Sweet Potato Fries 🍽️ Serve the fries and chicken in separate piles, with ketchup as a familiar dip. |
| Tuesday | Banana Pancake Bites 🍽️ Stack them into a tower to make breakfast feel like a game. | Chicken Nugget Salad Plate 🍽️ Give each food its own section of the plate, with no touching. | Mild Turkey Tacos 🍽️ Serve build-your-own style so your child decides exactly what goes inside. |
| Wednesday | Yogurt Parfait Bar 🍽️ Let your child spoon their own toppings in. Halve the blueberries for toddlers. | Chicken and Cheese Quesadillas 🍽️ Cut into small triangles so they're easy to hold. | Crispy Fish Sticks 🍽️ Serve the corn in its own small bowl next to the fish sticks. |
| Thursday | Scrambled Eggs and Toast 🍽️ Cut the toast into long 'soldiers' for dipping. | Turkey and Cheese Pinwheels 🍽️ Line the pinwheels up in a row like a train. | Rotini with Mild Meat Sauce 🍽️ Serve the pasta plain with the sauce in a small dipping bowl on the side. |
| Friday | Oatmeal with a 'Cloud' Topping 🍽️ Sprinkle a little cinnamon on top in a fun shape, like a smiley face. | Air-Fried Chicken Sliders 🍽️ Skip mayo or mustard unless they ask. Keep it 'dry'. | Homemade Pizza Night 🍽️ Let your child choose the shape of their slice: squares or triangles. |
| Saturday | French Toast Sticks 🍽️ A light dusting of powdered sugar makes them look like a treat. | DIY Cracker Stackers 🍽️ Arrange everything in a circle so they can build their own stacks. | Baked Breaded Tofu 'Nuggets' 🍽️ Serve with their favorite nugget dipping sauce to bridge the flavor. |
| Sunday | Mini Bagels and Pears 🍽️ Serve the bagel halves open-faced so your child can see the topping. | Chicken Nugget Pita Pockets 🍽️ Cut the pita into small, easy-to-hold triangles. | Crispy Baked Pork Schnitzel 🍽️ Make the breading extra crunchy. For nugget lovers, texture is everything. |
